{"id":4471,"date":"2025-04-15T23:53:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-15T23:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lanfrica.com\/blog\/?p=4471"},"modified":"2025-05-15T18:50:31","modified_gmt":"2025-05-15T18:50:31","slug":"lanfrica-at-wipo-copyright-policies-for-the-development-of-artificial-intelligence-in-latin-america-and-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lanfrica.com\/blog\/lanfrica-at-wipo-copyright-policies-for-the-development-of-artificial-intelligence-in-latin-america-and-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"Lanfrica at WIPO: Copyright Policies for the development of Artificial Intelligence in Latin America and Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lanfrica was honored to participate in a high-level panel at the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wipo.int\/portal\/en\/\">World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)<\/a><\/strong> during the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wipo.int\/meetings\/en\/details.jsp?meeting_id=86568\">Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights<\/a><\/strong>, in a side event titled <strong>\u201cPromoting AI for Good in the Global South&#8221;<\/strong> which took place April 7 to April 11, 2025, in Geneva, Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event, which was jointly organized by Recreate, Access to Knowledge (A2K), and Fundacion Via Libre, brought together experts from Latin America and Africa to discuss the cultural, legal, and copyright challenges of building responsible AI from the Global South.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lanfrica joined an inspiring, all-women panel composed of leading voices from across the Global South, contributing African perspectives to the conversation.
