This dataset contains the results of 16S rRNA gene sequencing used to characterize bacterial communities from two hypersaline environments in Algeria: Hadjer El Melh salt rocks and Zahrez-Gharbi Salt Lake. Environmental DNA was extracted from samples collected at both sites, and sequencing was conducted to identify the microbial diversity at multiple taxonomic levels (phylum to species). The study provides insight into the microbial ecology of extreme environments and highlights the presence of halophilic and halotolerant bacterial taxa. These data contribute to a better understanding of microbial adaptation and community structure in saline ecosystems of the Sahara region. The raw and processed data include taxonomic profiles, OTU/ASV tables, and abundance matrices. This dataset is part of a broader research project conducted under the supervision of the University of Djelfa, Faculty of Nature and Life Sciences.
