AbstractDespite the recommendations issued at the 1999 Seoul International Congress and reaffirmed by UNESCO in 2001, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Gabon continues to face significant delays in adapting to global technological advancements. Impaired by obsolete industrial machinery, shortage of raw materials, and a persistent skills mismatch in the labor market, the Gabonese vocational education system requires a structural renewal of its learning environments. This literature review investigates the integration of 3D modeling, simulation, and 3D printing prototyping as a pedagogical leverage for technical education. By linking principles from the maker movement (FabLabs, third places) with the theoretical framework of the instrumental approach (Rabardel, Vygotsky), this paper examines how additive manufacturing can foster experiential and constructivist learning. The study highlights the need to transition from traditional deductive teaching toward action-oriented, problem-solving cycles, while addressing the critical infrastructural and teacher-training challenges required for sustainable implementation in Gabon. Keywords : Modeling, simulation, rapid prototyping, 3D printing, TVET, instrumental approach, Gabon.
