The Great Enclosure in Sudan refers to a group of religious structures associated with Kushite and Meroitic traditions. These temples exhibit stone-built architecture, decorated reliefs, and inscriptions that reflect ritual practices and cosmological beliefs. The layout includes sanctuaries, courtyards, and processional pathways. The complex contributes to understanding religious expression, political authority, and architectural innovation in ancient Nubia.Temple Complex is part of the listed UNESCO World Heritage Site, 'Archaeological Sites of the Island of Meroe'.The Zamani Project seeks to increase awareness and knowledge of tangible cultural heritage in Africa and internationally by creating metrically accurate digital representations of historical sites. Digital spatial data of cultural heritage sites can be used for research and education, for restoration and conservation, and as a record for future generations. The Zamani Project operates as a non-profit organisation within the University of Cape Town.Special thanks to the Saville Foundation, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the German Archaeological Institute, among others, for their contributions to the digital documentation of this heritage site.
