The aim of this paper is to analyze the derivation and compounding of Ngamo place names within the framework of lexical morphology. Unstructured interview and observation are used as methods of data collection for the study. The paper reveals that minus formation is used where the derived form is achieved by shortening the vowel of word final position. Zero derivation formations are used to derive Ngamo place names from personal names and idiophones. Adverbial and nominal compounds demonstrate four different adverb-base compound and nine different noun-base compounds respectively.
