The rapid increase in vehicle ownership in Nigeria has exacerbated traffic congestion, road safety issues, and corruption in vehicle document verification. Manual verification systems are time-consuming, error-prone, and susceptible to bribery, hindering effective traffic management and stolen vehicle recovery. This paper proposes a cutting-edge QR code-based vehicle verification system to streamline registration, enhance security, and reduce corruption. Leveraging web-based QR code generation, a robust database, and mobile scanning technology, the system ensures rapid, accurate verification by law enforcement and stakeholders. Statistical analyses predict a 40% reduction in verification time and a 30% decrease in bribery incidents. The study evaluates the system’s design, implementation, and performance, drawing on interdisciplinary research to address scalability, usability, and data privacy. By integrating blockchain for tamper-proof records, the system positions Nigeria’s traffic management at the forefront of digital innovation, fostering safer roads and a transparent verification ecosystem.
