A Reference Architecture for Trustworthy AI-Enabled Decision Support Systems

Project Description CAMEAL is a Responsible AI reference architecture designed to strengthen climate resilience decision-making through trustworthy, evidence-based intelligence. The project integrates a trusted evidence repository, machine learning for predictive analytics, AI-assisted decision support, intelligent drafting, and a governance framework based on Context-Aware Adaptation, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (CAMEAL). Designed for both offline and online deployment, the system enables institutions to access trusted knowledge, identify credible external evidence, generate explainable recommendations, and produce analytical reports while ensuring transparency, accountability, and human oversight. The proof-of-concept will be implemented in Kenya and developed as a scalable model for adaptation across Africa.
