A scoping review of the leishmaniases in Ethiopia

The leishmaniases are a group of neglected tropical diseases that include visceral leishmaniasis (VL), cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL), mucocutaneous leishmaniasis (MCL), and post-kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis (PKDL). East Africa is considered a hot spot for leishmaniasis transmission, of which Ethiopia is an important contributor. Using the PRISMA scoping review methodology, this study aims to determine the state of leishmaniasis research in Ethiopia and determine what gaps remain.
