Plant breeding faces challenges such as high failure rates, long trial periods, and difficulty in developing climate-resilient varieties. We propose the Agro.X Hackathon, an innovation challenge where artificial intelligence meets plant science. Using the dataset Correlates of Hybridization in Plants, participants design autonomous AI systems to predict hybridization success, rank plant pairs, forecast trait improvements, and provide interpretable insights. This initiative aims to accelerate agricultural innovation in Algeria and beyond. This project is also intended to be submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture’s Innovation Platform.
