Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems in Africa are often limited by slow reporting and data gaps. This study examines how generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) can influence the future of M&E reports by simulating reporting processes using AI tools. Data collection and analysis were entirely AI-generated, examining potential improvements in speed, accuracy, and accessibility. The findings reveal that AI can enhance reporting efficiency and raise ethical and contextual concerns. This research is crucial, as it highlights innovative pathways to modernise M&E practices in support of effective decision-making and sustainable development in Africa.
