The thesis revolves around the interaction between language, education and development within the framework of language planning. The failure of French in literacy for all motivates the inclusion of Bambara in the education system in Mali. The field survey aims at generating data around these socio-educational and sociolinguistic issues. Quantitative and qualitative methods are used based on analytical and descriptive studies. The data collection tools are questionnaires and interviews. The research focuses on the development of the Bambara language in non-formal education for sustainable development. The promotion of the Bambara language in this model of education has enabled some Malians, mostly local populations, to benefit from the discovery of basic knowledge. The development of the Bambara language is the key factor for sustainable development in Mali. This linguistic arrangement fights against adult illiteracy.
