This is a recording of a ceremony during the New Year's celebrations. A group of people from the Badepiam clan visits Deborah Peia an her family from the Liram clan. Deborah had worked as a manager for telecommunications in Port Moresby. When she retired, she gave some money to her "uncle's side", i.e. the Badepiam clan. This kind of payment is called "basket payment". In return, they bring her now some gifts. The scene is accompanied by wailing and crying on the side of the Liram clan. The emotional reaction was explained in terms of feeling reminded of the old man Peia who has passed away in October. The singers and dancers are performing songs from that clan.
