The dataset was adjusted using the cumulative distribution function transform (CDF-t; Michelangeli et al., 2009) over 1980–2099, combining historical and RCP8.5 runs for precipitation and near-surface maximum and minimum air temperature. Reference observations included Northern Cameroon interpolated rainfall (0.01°; Knops & Lavarenne, 2024) and CHIRTS-daily temperature data (0.05°; Funk et al., 2019). To limit spurious extremes, precipitation values above the 99.98th percentile were masked.
