Bridging Gaps in Cerebral Palsy Care: A Policy Integration Framework for Resource‐Limited Settings

ABSTRACT Cerebral palsy (CP) is one of the most important causes of childhood motor disability, with a high burden in lower‐ and middle‐ income countries (LMICs). In LMICs, despite clinical limitations there are also gaps in service organization, and access to assistive technologies within Universal Health Coverage (UHC) frameworks. This article highlights the need for integrated and context‐specific approaches that incorporate pharmacoeconomic principles into CP management while addressing broader health‐system challenges. We propose the Cerebral Palsy Policy Integration Framework (CP‐PIF), a policy‐oriented model designed to connect financial prioritization, service organization, and technology access to support equitable and sustainable CP care in resource‐limited settings. Academic–clinical partnerships, community‐based rehabilitation, low‐cost technologies, 3D printing, and artificial intelligence represent potential pathways for strengthening implementation. By aligning healthcare resources with population needs, CP‐PIF provides a framework for improving early access, long‐term outcomes, and cost‐effective care for children with CP in LMICs.
