Abstract

The research paper titled "Challenges, in Regulating Artificial Intelligence Use in Ghana’s Judicial System" delves into the pitfalls, societal challenges and impacts associated with implementing AI technologies within Ghana’s courts. By examining Ghana’s framework encompassing laws regarding healthcare, data protection and evidence handling the study highlights gaps and obstacles in addressing AI related risks within the judicial system. Noteworthy concerns raised include issues of bias, transparency, accountability and liability.

Furthermore the paper explores how the adoption of AI in Ghana’s courts could affect access to justice, fairness and public confidence in the judiciary from a legal standpoint. It suggests a set of guiding principles for overseeing AI use in courts that prioritize fairness, transparency, accountability and inclusivity.

By providing suggestions like revising existing legislation, forming bodies for AI governance oversight and fostering public education campaigns and involvement initiatives this paper contributes to ongoing discussions, about responsibly integrating AI technologies into legal frameworks.
