Starting at 7 days post-infection with T. b. rhodesiense KETRI 2537, monkeys confirmed to have first stage HAT were treated with either DB868 orally or pentamidine intramuscularly. DB868 at 20 mg/kg/day for 5 days (n = 2); DB868 at 10 mg/kg/day for 7 days (n = 2); DB868 at 3 mg/kg/day for 7 days (n = 2); pentamidine at 4 mg/kg/day for 7 days (n = 3).
