One of the main challenges to global agricultural output today is climate change. Sugarcane being highly sensitive to warming, rainfall anomalies, droughts, floods, and pests. The objective of this review article is to assess the effects of climate change on sugarcane productivity and provide information on approaches that may be used to adapt sugarcane agroecosystem to new challenges. Peer-reviewed literature sources were analyzed in order to evaluate existing evidence on abiotic and biotic impacts of climate change on the productivity of sugarcane. Climate change has several adverse impacts on growth, sucrose content, and overall productivity of sugarcane. Climate-smart agriculture, improved irrigation, development of cultivars adapted to climate change, integrated pest management, use of artificial intelligence and other new technologies, as well as supportive policies have been recognized as effective measures to increase resilience of sugarcane cultivation. However, there are many important gaps that need to be filled with further research. It is crucial to perform further multidisciplinary research in order to develop climate-resilient technologies for sustainable sugarcane production
