A Comparative Analysis of Technological Innovation in Financial Service Delivery: A Case Study of Moniepoint MFB and Traditional Banks investigate how Moniepoint's fintech innovations influence customer satisfaction, financial inclusion, and operational efficiency in comparison to traditional banks in Nigeria. This research aims to evaluate Moniepoint's role in enhancing financial inclusion and to explore the impact of its fintech platform on operational efficiency. Specifically, the study seeks to comprehend how Moniepoint's fintech innovations have influenced customer satisfaction, contributed to financial inclusion, and affected operational efficiency.
A random sampling technique was utilized to select a sample of 385 active Moniepoint users. A structured questionnaire containing closed-ended questions was employed to collect data regarding customer satisfaction, financial inclusion, and operational efficiency. The questionnaire was distributed via Google Forms and social media platforms, yielding a total of 200 respondents, which corresponds to a response rate of 51.95%.
The data was analyzed using a combination of descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. Descriptive statistics, such as mean, median, and mode, were applied to summarize the data and provide insights into the demographics of the participants and their perceptions of Moniepoint's fintech services. The interquartile range (IQR) was utilized to evaluate the variability within the data. Regression analysis was conducted to investigate the relationship between Moniepoint's fintech innovations and factors like customer satisfaction, inclusion, and operational efficiency.
The results of the study reveal that Moniepoint's technological advancements significantly enhance customer satisfaction (R² = 0.193, 95% CI: [0.298, 0.537]), promote financial inclusion (mean score = 4.188, 95% CI: [4.094, 4.283]), and improve operational efficiency (mean score = 4.238, 95% CI: [4.150, 4.325]). These findings indicate that Moniepoint's offerings have expanded access to financial services, stimulated economic development, and increased customers' ability to perform transactions effectively. In contrast, conventional banks are falling behind in terms of technological progress and customer satisfaction.
The findings of this study highlight the essential function of fintech services such as Moniepoint in fostering growth and progress within Nigeria's financial landscape. It is recommended that fintech companies, including Moniepoint, focus on customer-oriented innovation and invest in technologies that improve operational efficiency and encourage financial inclusion. Traditional banks should consider investing in digital transformation strategies, particularly in mobile banking and online services, to enhance customer experiences and boost operational efficiency. Additionally, policymakers are urged to create regulatory frameworks that support the growth of fintech while protecting consumer interests and ensuring financial stability.
