This is the first release of the compound flooding modelling framework developed as part of the EU-funded COMPASS project, belonging to deliverable D1.3 of the project. This release concerns the Main branch. For compound flooding, the framework links hydrological, coastal hydrodynamic and local inundation modelling components through an automated Snakemake-based workflow. It uses tools such as HydroMT, wflow, Delft3D-FM and SFINCS, together with data catalogs and user-editable configuration files, to set up and run event-based simulations. The workflow supports the integration of key flood drivers, including precipitation, river discharge, storm surge, wind and coastal water levels, and was applied or adapted across several COMPASS Use Cases, including tropical cyclones in Mozambique and Honduras, winter storms in the United Kingdom, and flooding in South Africa. The framework also includes options for counterfactual simulations, enabling users to modify drivers such as precipitation, sea level and wind in order to explore attributable changes in flood extent, depth, volume and, where relevant, impacts such as damages and population exposure.
