This dataset accompanies the manuscript “Mesoporous biochar reshapes soil water dynamics under shallow groundwater: interactions with nitrogen management” submitted to SOIL. It contains measurements of soil physical and chemical properties, soil water content (SWC) dynamics, tomato fruit quality parameters, and the R scripts used for statistical analysis and figure generation. The data were collected during two tomato growing seasons (2022–2023) in a split-plot field experiment in the Nile Delta, Egypt. Treatments included mesoporous biochar (35 t ha⁻¹) and three nitrogen rates (100%, 80%, and 50% of recommended N).
