This dataset contains the cleaned and processed macroeconomic data used for the empirical analysis in the study examining money demand dynamics and monetary policy in East Africa. The data were compiled from the World Bank World Development Indicators (WDI) database and transformed by the author to derive additional variables, including real money balances, interest rates, inflation measures, and banking sector indicators. The dataset consists of annual observations covering the period 2004–2021 for five East African countries. It includes variables such as reserve money (RM), consumer price index (CPI), real GDP (RGDP), inflation (INF), real interest rates (RIR), broad money aggregates (MOBP, MOBPN), domestic credit to the private sector (DCPS), exchange rates (OER), international interest rates (INT), ATM penetration (ATM), commercial bank branches (CBB), and several normalized or transformed versions of these variables.
