Dataset for: Willingness to pay for quality sweetpotato variety traits in Mozambique

Emerging evidence points to the significance of quality traits in informing acceptance and adoption of new varieties by end-users. These traits are, however, many and fragmented across various user segments, presenting a challenge to breeders on important ones to prioritize in allocating breeding resources. This dataset emanates from a mix of qualitative (focus group discussions and expert opinions) and quantitative (choice experiments) studies aimed at eliciting farmer preferences for quality-related traits in Mozambique, and how these are traded-off in variety choice. This information is useful in guiding breeders on trait prioritization in breeding efforts, towards development of widely accepted and demanded new varieties.
