This dataset contains a collected response sample of 600 Senior Secondary School students designed to support research on teachers’ code switching between English and Nigerian Pidgin and its relationship with students’ classroom participation, confidence, willingness to participate, and perceptions of bilingual instructional practices. The dataset was collected using ramom sampling technique to ensure reproducibility. It includes demographic variables such as student identification number, gender, age, class level, and school, together with responses from three Likert scale based measurement domains: classroom participation (7 items), confidence and willingness to participate (8 items), and perception of teachers’ code switching practices (8 items). Responses were generated on a four point Likert scale ranging from 1 (Strongly Disagree) to 4 (Strongly Agree). Composite scores for classroom participation, confidence and willingness, and perception of code switching were calculated by averaging the respective questionnaire items. The dataset was developed to replicate the characteristics of survey data collected from rural secondary school students in Rivers State, Nigeria, and is intended for methodological demonstrations, statistical analysis, educational research, and testing of quantitative analysis procedures.
