International audience This work aims to show that the description and the interpretation of the characteristics of various lexical items, notably described as « slang » (mainly in the French and in the Wolof used by young rappers from Dakar and Saint-Louis) can only be achieved and completed by taking into account all the possible realizations of language. Indeed, it’s within the framework of the formal and the semantic variation that these lexical units draw their meanings.
