This is a video recording of a traditional dance performed by elders of the community. This performance was part of the national Independence Day celebration held by the village, the biggest annual holiday celebration. This particular dance is more serious, and it is a ceremonial dance commemorating the death of an important figure in the community. Unlike some of the other dances, it is performed by just one elder. This recording was made on the rugby field in the northwest part of Upiara village.
