This work presents the design and development of a low-cost, compressorless air conditioning system for energy-constrained environments like Uganda. The system uses thermoelectric cooling technology based on TEC1-12706 Peltier modules, integrated with an Arduino Nano and DS18B20 temperature sensor for automated climate control. Aimed at replacing expensive, high-power compressor-based systems, this prototype offers a sustainable, refrigerant-free alternative ideal for small-scale cooling applications. The prototype successfully achieved a notable temperature drop in a controlled enclosure, and economic analysis shows significant cost savings compared to traditional systems. The project contributes to sustainable development goals by promoting energy efficiency, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and enabling wider access to cooling in off-grid and rural areas.
