This study presents the development and preliminary validation of a novel, low-cost staining protocol designed for enhanced morphological identification of Aedes aegypti and other insect vectors in low-resource and conflict-affected settings. The protocol utilizes locally available materials to address the critical need for accessible entomological tools in regions like Sudan. Preliminary results demonstrate significant improvement in the visualization of key taxonomic features compared to standard methods, with an 80% reduction in cost and processing time. This approach offers a practical solution for vector surveillance programs operating under financial and logistical constraints, enabling timely and accurate vector identification where conventional methods are unavailable.
