This is an original cross-sectional research study examining digital health literacy levels, usage patterns of AI health tools (ChatGPT, symptom checkers, mental health chatbots), and privacy concerns among health sciences students (Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health) across 5-9 major universities in Somalia. The study will use the validated eHealth Literacy Scale (eHEALS) with 28 survey questions administered via Google Forms, targeting 300-400 students across multiple cities including Mogadishu, Hargeisa, Baidoa, Bosaso, Beledweyene, dhusamareeb, Kismayo, and Borama. This is the first study of its kind in Somalia examining the intersection of digital health literacy, AI health tool adoption, and data privacy concerns in the Somali context.
