Documentation of Kambaata Documentation du kambaata

The collection assembles recordings made with Kambaata native speakers in the Kambaata-Xambaaro Zone (Central Ethiopian Region) and, to a lesser extent, with Kambaata speakers abroad (France and Germany). The recordings and their annotations were made in the framework of Yvonne Treis's research projects on the Kambaata language (started in 2002 and ongoing). The recordings are from a variety of genres, i.e. tales, myths, interviews and conversations, poems, eulogies and readings as well as recordings of elicited data. The data constitutes the basis for the grammatical analysis as well as the documentation of the lexicon, the oral literature and the cultural heritage.
