For study purposes, the Bwanje Valley is defined as the 8-km are surrounding the Bwanje Valley Irrigation Scheme. Field surveys were conducted in mid-August 2016 by a field team of three researchers. Samples include those categorized as 'sample sites' and 'accuracy assessment' samples. Accuracy assessment samples were those collected in addition to those identified in the stratified random sample to further assist in classification.
