A low-cost, point-of-care diagnostic innovation using one finger-prick dried blood spot sample to screen for both sickle cell disease/trait and G6PD deficiency. The sickle cell lane uses room-temperature RPA isothermal amplification (with a chemical SAT-heater fallback for low ambient temperatures) combined with CRISPR-Cas12a detection for single-base-precision genotyping (HbAA/HbAS/HbSS), read via lateral-flow strip. The G6PD lane uses an established enzymatic colour-change strip. Includes a volumetric collection insert to address haematocrit-accuracy issues common to standard DBS cards. Developed under BioMinds, targeting accessible newborn/genetic screening in low-resource settings across Africa.
