Dzodze

Chapters 10 threads together the shared attributes encountered between Anlo-Ewe and Arará ritual traditions during fieldwork. The chapter begins with an early encounter with Dashi, an important Dzodze, Ghana, priestess, that launched the fieldwork upon which this book is based. It offers a summation of Ewe migration history and Anlo-Ewe ritual traditions. Fieldwork events are then detailed revealing the process of ethnographic discovery, particularly around the deity known as Togbui Anyigbato. The concept of metaculture is advanced as dialogues between Cuba and Ghana became a part of the process of knowledge production during fieldwork.
