Digital payment systems have transformed financial services in emerging markets by improving transaction efficiency, promoting financial inclusion, and supporting economic growth. Technologies such as mobile wallets, internet banking, QR-code payments, and online transfers have reduced dependence on cash, particularly in countries like India, China, Brazil, Indonesia, Kenya, and South Africa. These systems offer benefits including lower transaction costs, greater transparency, improved tax compliance, enhanced business productivity, and better access to financial services for underserved populations. They also enable efficient welfare distribution and support credit access through transaction data analysis. However, challenges such as cybersecurity risks, digital literacy gaps, privacy concerns, regulatory issues, and uneven internet access hinder wider adoption. This study examines the economic impact of digital payment adoption using financial inclusion, GDP growth, transaction efficiency, and business performance indicators. The findings show that increased digital payment usage positively contributes to economic development, financial participation, and entrepreneurial activity. The study emphasizes the importance of investments in digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, regulation, and financial education to maximize the benefits of digital payments and foster inclusive, sustainable economic growth.
