Many farmers in Nigeria face challenges in accessing effective extension services, resulting in limited knowledge and adoption of sustainable agricultural practices. The main objective of the study, is assessing the effectiveness of extension services in promoting sustainable agricultural practices among farmers in Imo state, Nigeria, while the specific objectives are to: assess the level of awareness and adoption of sustainable agricultural practices among farmers in Imo State as influenced by extension services, and evaluate the relationship between the frequency of extension service delivery and the effectiveness in promoting sustainable farming methods. Descriptive survey was adopted by the study. Findings: The study's results have implications for the design and implementation of extension services in Imo State and also highlight Extension services that are responsive to farmers' needs and circumstances are more likely to be effective in promoting the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices. And concluded that Strengthening the capacity and outreach of extension services is therefore vital for achieving widespread adoption of sustainable agricultural practices. Recommendations: (1) The government and relevant agencies should increase the availability and accessibility of extension officers across farming communities in Imo State to ensure more farmers benefit from tailored, practical guidance. (2) Extension officers should be trained to adapt their support to the unique challenges and needs of each farming community to enhance adoption of sustainable practices.
