This study determined the effects of peer tutoring using Blaan-translated word problems towards the performance in mathematics of the Grade 7 Blaan learners of Lampitak National High School. There were sixty (60) Grade 7 Blaan learners and they were divided into two groups: the control group, which was taught on how to solve English-worded problems in Mathematics using traditional lecture method; and the experimental group which was taught by applying peer-to-peer learning strategy as an intervention during the class session. The data had been analyzed at 0.05 level of significance using the frequency count, mean, percentage, and t-tests for independent and dependent samples. The t-test results with the mean difference of 6.67, t-value=-5.073 and p-value=0.000 between the pretest and post-test among the experimental group showed that the performance of Grade 7 Blaan learners in solving English-worded problems in mathematics is affected by peer tutoring using Blaan-translated word problems. The result revealed that there is a poor level of knowledge among the two groups at the start of the study. It further emphasized that employing peer-tutoring using the Blaan language is effective in improving the performance of Blaan learners in Mathematics than teaching using the traditional method without peer tutoring.
