This dataset accompanies the publication: Marco Willi, Ross Tyzack Pitman, Anabelle W. Cardoso, Christina Locke, Alexandra Swanson, Amy Boyer, Marten Veldthuis, Lucy Fortson. 2018. "Identifying Animal Species In Camera Trap Images Using Deep Learning and Citizen Scientists". Methods in Ecology and Evolution. This dataset is a subset of the larger Elephant Expedition project (by Anabelle Williamson Cardoso). Elephant Expedition is a dataset of images from 40 motion- and heat- triggered cameras in Lope national Park, Gabon, central Africa. It is also an associated metadata file containing classifications of each image from citizen scientists from an online platform affiliated with Zooniverse.org. Contained in this dataset are: 1. Image-Data (17 GB - small 330x330 pixel images, .tar file) drive.google.com 2. Meta-Data to describe the dataset (44 MB, .tar.gz file) drive.google.com 3. README file describing the dataset and the files. This data is currently access controlled.
