English News Media Headlines on Egypt with Sentiment and Topic Annotations (2025)

This dataset contains English news headlines related to Egypt, collected from Google News RSS feeds between January and December 2025. The data covers a broad range of local and international media outlets and includes metadata describing source type, country of origin, and publication date.

Data collection was conducted using a custom Python-based tool that programmatically queried Google News RSS endpoints using keyword-based searches combined with date filters. To ensure comprehensive temporal coverage and reduce query limitations, the collection period was divided into monthly intervals. Duplicate entries were removed based on identical headline titles.

Following collection, the dataset was enriched through additional analytical workflows that assigned thematic categories (main and sub-topics), sentiment labels (positive, neutral, negative), and an influence score designed to reflect the relative prominence of each media source.

The dataset is intended for use in media studies, computational journalism, natural language processing, and political communication research, and may support comparative analyses of media framing, sentiment trends, and source influence.
