This study presents an environmental impact assessment of hydrocarbons, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), heavy metals, and pollutant pathways in the Niger Delta—one of the world’s most oil-impacted ecosystems. It evaluates contamination levels across soil, water, sediments, and biota using established analytical techniques, including Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), UV–Vis spectrophotometry, and physicochemical assays. The work identifies major degradation patterns, pollutant bioaccumulation risks, and exposure pathways affecting local communities. It contributes practical insights for environmental monitoring, pollution control, and sustainable remediation strategies in oil-impacted regions.
