
Equity Bank Kenya serves many customers through tellers and mobile money agents. In busy service areas, an agent may need to ask for help from the main teller or indicate that a transaction has been completed. If this is done through verbal communication only, it may cause delays, confusion, and poor coordination. This affects customer service and reduces efficiency, especially during busy hours.
The proposed solution is an Arduino-based alert system simulated in Wokwi. The system uses two push buttons and one PIR motion sensor as input devices. One button is used to request assistance from the main teller, while the second button is used to indicate that a transaction has been completed. The PIR sensor is used to detect when a customer is present at the agent desk. The outputs include a red LED, a green LED, a buzzer, and an LCD display. When assistance is needed, the red LED turns on, the buzzer sounds, and the LCD displays an alert message. When a transaction is completed, the green LED turns on and the LCD shows a completion message. When a customer is detected, the LCD shows that a customer is at the desk.
This project is relevant to Equity Bank Kenya because it improves communication between agents and tellers, reduces service delays, and helps staff serve customers in a more organized way. It also fits well in a banking environment where agent banking and mobile money services are important. The system can improve efficiency and customer experience in busy banking points.
