The data belong to section 5 "Case Study" of the paper entitled "Normalised coe?cients of prediction accuracy for
comparative forecast veri?cation and modelling", published in the journal Research in Statistics.
With altogether three R syntax files (R Core Team, 2022), original meteorological data (monthly rainfall in Ethiopia for all twelve months in the years 1920-1985), which have been downloaded from the Climatic Research Unit of the University of East Anglia (2022), are processed to evaluate the new normalised coeffcients of prediction accuracy developed in the journal paper.
The data consists of three R syntax files *.r (R Core Team, 2022), numbered 1, 2, 3, and three data files *.txt used in and produced by these R syntax files. In order to produce the results, tables and figures in the paper, the R syntax files must be run consecutively i the numbered order. In the header of each syntax file, it is stated which data files it uses as input and which ones it produces as output.
