Evaluating the Effectiveness of Micro-Teaching Among University Students: A Case Study at Abdulrahman Al-Sumait University

Micro-teaching is a structured, practice-based approach to developing teaching skills through short, focused teaching sessions followed by feedback and reflection. This study examines the impact of micro-teaching on university students' teaching abilities, focusing on classroom management, lesson planning, and assessment skills. Conducted at Abdulrahman Al-Sumait University in Zanzibar, the research follows a cross-sectional quantitative design, utilizing structured questionnaires completed by 118 participants. The results reveal that micro-teaching effectively strengthens teaching competencies, with a majority of participants recognizing its relevance to their professional development. While classroom management and lesson planning showed significant improvement, the study identified a need for further refinement in assessment and evaluation skills. The findings suggest that micro-teaching is a beneficial approach for teacher training and highlight areas for enhancement in instructional preparation.
