Geopolitical energy shocks

This dataset provides the replication materials for the paper "The Dangote Shield: Can Regional Refining Buffer Africa from Geopolitical Energy Shocks?" (Sodokin, 2026). The study investigates whether regional refining capacity — specifically Nigeria's Dangote refinery (650,000 b/d) — attenuates the transmission of the 2026 Iran–Hormuz geopolitical conflict to African fuel markets, using spatial econometric methods (SAR, SEM, SDM) and difference-in-differences estimation.
