# africa-legal-skills
Agent skills for drafting commercial contracts for African startups and
companies — OHADA law, UEMOA/CEMAC payments regulation, data protection, and the
operational realities that imported contract templates get wrong.
> **This repository does not provide legal advice.** It supports drafting a first
> version and flags points requiring attention. Every contract must be reviewed
> by a lawyer qualified in the relevant jurisdiction before signature — all the
> more so for electronic money, employment and data protection, which are
> regulated fields.

## Coverage
The corpus is small and deliberately so: a fact only enters once a machine can
prove it against an archived primary text. What follows is what is actually in
`data/` today, not an ambition.
| Bloc | Facts | Primary texts archived |
| --- | --- | --- |
| UEMOA / BCEAO — electronic money, distributors, agent liability, AML retention | 5 | Instructions 008-05-2015, 001-01-2024, AML/CFT Directive 02/2015 |
| OHADA — commercial agency, limitation periods, CCJA arbitration | 4 | AUDCG 2010, CCJA Arbitration Rules |
| CEMAC / BEAC — payment services, distributors | 2 | 2018 payment services regulation |
| Nigeria — data protection | 1 | NDPC GAID 2025 |
| Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Maghreb, Egypt | **0** | — |
Anything not listed above is **not covered**. The skill will say so rather than
answer from model recall — which on African law is confidently wrong often
enough to be dangerous in a signed contract.
Still unmined: the bulk of the AUDCG beyond commercial agency and limitation,
and most of the AML/CFT directive beyond record retention.
## Language policy
Field names, prose and skill instructions are in **English**, so the repository
is usable internationally and discoverable on skills.sh.
**Quotes are never translated.** They stay in the language the regulator
legislates in — French for BCEAO, CEMAC and OHAD …
