# Customizing LADM With PGIS for Land Tenure Security in Dome, Accra
This repository presents a University of Twente thesis portfolio project on customizing the Land Administration Domain Model (LADM) with Participatory GIS (PGIS) concepts to support land tenure documentation in informal settlement contexts.
The case study focuses on Dome, Accra, Ghana, where customary, family, informal, and statutory land relationships can overlap. The project explores how land rights, parties, spatial units, evidence sources, tenure conflicts, and local verification processes can be represented in a structured land information model.
## Research Focus
The thesis investigates how a locally adapted land administration model can improve the representation of land tenure security in informal settlements.
Main question:
How can LADM be customized with participatory GIS inputs to represent informal and customary land tenure relationships in Dome, Accra?
## Objectives
- Review LADM concepts and their relevance for informal and customary tenure documentation.
- Identify local land tenure actors, rights, restrictions, responsibilities, evidence sources, and conflict situations.
- Translate field insights into a conceptual domain model.
- Develop a Dome-focused tenure model using Enterprise Architect.
- Support land tenure documentation through GIS-based and participatory evidence.
