# Get-Involved
Here are some guidelines on how to contribute and get involved in the African Consortium for Data Science (ACfDS) GitHub repository:
* Familiarize Yourself with the README:
+ Start by reading the README.md file to understand ACoDS's mission, objectives, and ongoing initiatives & events.
+ Pay attention to any specific guidelines or announcements mentioned.
+ Two ways to get involed, the first one is via a Google form and the second one is the GitHub way :smiley:.
+ The following contributions are welcome:
- Curriculum outlines
- Texts
- Lecture notes (.doc, .docx, .ods, .rtf, .pdf formats)
- PowerPoint presentations / slides (ppt,pptx,odp,or pdf formats)
- Exercises
- Jupyter notebooks
- Hackathons
- Lists of online resources with links
- Anything related to data science that could be used in a course or educational setting
### 1. Get involved via a Google form (Recommended)
Please use this Google form to make submissions to the African Consortium for Data Science repository for data science learning resources.
### 2. Get involved the GitHub way :smiley:
* Create a GitHub Account:
+ If you don't have one already, create a GitHub account
* Explore Repository Content:
+ Browse through the different folders and subfolders in the repository to get an overview of available materials and projects.
* Contribution Channels:
+ Identify specific areas or projects that align with your interests and expertise.
+ Check for open issues or ongoing projects where contributions are welcome.
+ Engage in discussions on the Issues tab to ask questions, seek clarification, or propose new ideas.
+ Look for labeled issues that indicate tasks suitable for contributors.
+ Create a pull request clearly outlining the changes you've made and the purpose of your contribution.
- Review and Merge: Be open to feedback from maintainers and other contributors. Once your contribution is reviewed and approved, it will be merged into the main repository.
