Project Amani: The East Africa Land-DeFi Engine
Transforming Dead Capital into Liquid Wealth on the Stellar Blockchain.
Overview
Project Amani is a decentralized Real-World Asset (RWA) protocol built on **Stellar (Soroban)**. It addresses the "Dead Capital" crisis in East Africa, where billions of dollars in unregistered land cannot be used as collateral.
By tokenizing land titles into verifiable digital assets, Project Amani allows landowners to access instant credit from global DeFi pools while maintaining a transparent, immutable record of ownership.
The Problem & Solution
The Problem: 70% of land in Sub-Saharan Africa is unregistered. This "Dead Capital" prevents farmers from accessing loans to scale their businesses.
The Solution: A standardized engine to mint, verify, and lock land titles as collateral for stablecoin loans (USDC/local tokens).
Intellectual Property & Monetization
Project Amani is designed as a Reusable Protocol, not just an app. Revenue is generated through:
1. Protocol Fees: A 0.05% fee on every loan processed by the engine.
2. Minting Fees: Small XLM fees for every digital deed created.
3. B2B Licensing: White-labeling the engine for SACCOs and Micro-finance institutions.
Tech Stack
Blockchain: Stellar Network
Smart Contracts: Soroban (Rust SDK)
Asset Standards: CAP-46 (Smart Tokens) & SEP-12 (Identity)
Roadmap
Phase 1 (Current): Core Registry Smart Contract (Minting logic).
Phase 2: Integration with East African ID Oracles (NIDA/IPRS).
Phase 3: Collateral Vaults & DeFi Lending Integration.
Developed as part of the Stellar East Africa Ecosystem.
