# Temperature driven model of the seasonality of malaria transmission
This code creates a temperature driven model of malaria transmission and tests it in Cameroon. There are many thermal curves and biological constants used which assume the primary vector is Anopheles gambiae (this is the most common vector in Cameroon). These constants may need to be changed depending on the region the model is being applied to. The thermal curves for a variety of mosquito species can be found in the Mordecai, 2019 paper.
This model does not incorporate rainfall. This assumption is fine as long as the region being modelled gets sufficient rainfall to allow mosquito survival. Likewise, there are other extreme climatic and environmental conditions
that might prevent the transmission of malaria. This model is also not suitable in those cases.
