Maji Ndongo Water Crisis Analysis A Data-Driven Approach to Clean Water Access Project Overview This project investigates the water infrastructure of Maji Ndongo to identify critical contamination "hotspots" and prioritize intervention for vulnerable populations. By analyzing 200 monitored sites, this study provides a roadmap for shifting communities from "High Pollution" risk to safe, sustainable water access. The Technical Workflow Data Extraction: Gathered raw water service data from SQL/Databricks. Data Cleaning (Python/SQL): Handled missing values and standardized address formats. Filtered biological levels and pollutant PPM to categorize "High Pollution" vs. "Normal" sites. Calculated estimated children_served based on demographic ratios. Data Visualization (Power BI): Developed a multi-page interactive dashboard (refer to Madi Njongo Water services_2.pdf) Strategic Recommendations Targeted Filtration: Prioritize Sokoto and Hawassa for advanced biological filtration units due to highest average contamination levels. Akatsi Priority: Fast-track infrastructure upgrades in Akatsi to protect the 1,772+ children identified in the data. Rural Support: Focus on decentralized water treatment solutions for rural areas lacking centralized piping.
