# Ghana Stock Buddy - Frontend Ultimate MVP
This is a frontend-only, multi-page MVP application that shows live Ghana stock prices, auto-discovers trending tickers, predicts short-term signals, and sends automatic email alerts via EmailJS.
## High-Level Features
- **Live Data:** Fetches live Ghana stock data from public endpoints with a fallback to local sample data.
- **Auto-Discovery:** Dynamically shows newly listed or trending tickers.
- **Trend Prediction:** Client-side heuristics to mark stocks with signals like 'rocket', 'strong_buy', 'watch', 'falling', 'sell'.
- **Email Alerts:** Sends automatic email notifications via EmailJS.
- **Kid-Friendly UI:** Emojis, traffic lights, simple language, and a Stock Battle game.
- **Offline Mode:** Caches the last known data in localStorage and shows a warning when offline.
- **Admin Control Room:** A demo admin panel to edit local news, toggle global alerts, and manage app state.
## How to Run Locally
### Option 1: Simple File Opening
1. Open the `index.html` file directly in your web browser.
2. **Note:** Some browsers may block local file requests (`fetch`) to the `data/*.json` files. If the app doesn't load data, use Option 2.
### Option 2: Using a Local Web Server (Recommended)
1. Make sure you have Node.js installed.
2. Open your terminal in the project's root directory.
3. Install a simple HTTP server package:
```bash
npx http-server
```
4. Open your browser and navigate to the URL provided by `http-server` (usually `
localhost`).
Alternatively, if you have Python installed:
```bash
python -m http.server 8000
```
Then open `
localhost`.
## How to Deploy to GitHub Pages
1. Create a new repository on GitHub.
2. Push all the project files to the `main` branch of the repository.
3. In your repository's **Settings**, go to the **Pages** section.
4. Under **Source**, select the `main` branch and the `/ (root)` folder, then click **Save**.
