Begins with the contemporary poets dataset. # Data Repository for The African Poetry Digital Portal ## About This Data Repository **How to Use This Repository:** This repository is intended for use with the CDRH API and the African Poetry Digital Portal Ruby on Rails application. There are also scripts to post data into an Omeka S implementation, but these are in beta currently. The data set for APDP is in Airtable, contact project PI's for access. See posting instructions for how to post to the Rails API. **Source Files:** HTML, CSV, JSON **Script Languages:** Ruby (for data transformation and posting to CDRH API), Python (for Gale download and Omeka S posting) ## About The African Poetry Digital Portal The African Poetry Digital Portal is a project of the African Poetry Book Fund. The Portal is a resource for the study of the history of African Poetry providing access to biographical information, artifacts, news, video recording, images and documents related to African poetry from antiquity to the present. It will also feature specially curated digital projects on various aspects of African poetry. The first two sections of the portal — Contemporary African Poets and African Poets and Poetry in the News have been developed with the support of the Ford Foundation and the Center for Digital Research in the Humanities at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
